Julia Sawyer, PhD, E-RYT 500

With a commitment to facilitating others’ intrinsic capacities for self-renewal and over 35 years of classroom, studio, workshop and private teaching experience, Julia Sawyer, PhD, E-RYT 500, serves the Pittsburgh community as a Reiki Master, somatic therapist, and yoga, pranayama, and meditation instructor. Her somatic and energy practices are rooted in Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s Body-Mind Centering, Lisa Clark’s EmbodiYoga, Japp Van Der Wal’s embryological studies, the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki lineage, biodynamic craniosacral therapy, and the western esoteric tradition.

Julia’s Reiki practice focuses on helping clients experience a full sense of balance, wholeness and vitality—the very earmarks of Reiki energy itself. Julia begins each session by inviting clients into a conscious moment of rest during which the mind quiets and the body softens. This state of relaxation opens the opportunity for reiki energy to move easily and heal powerfully.
